Traditional Incense Ropes from Nepal
These incenses are made in Nepal by the Newar community in the Kathmandu valley.
Blends of wood and aromatic plant extracts are encased in a sheet of traditional paper (Lokta paper), which is then twisted. The cords are burnt in exactly the same way as an incense stick, simply by lighting the thicker end after placing the thinner end in the small holder provided.
