Seijudo - Quality Japanese incense since 1849
The Seijudo incense company, like most Japanese manufacturers, was founded by traders or producers of raw materials for incense production. In Seijudo's case, it wasn't until 1872 that incense production began. Prior to this, the company had specialised since 1849 in products derived from cedar and cypress, two trees whose powders are widely used in incense manufacture and whose region (Kamikawa) has forests renowned for their quality.
The company has carried on the tradition to this day, offering quality traditional incense as well as more modern products, including incense specially developed for Europe and North America since 1971.
